I don%26#039;t think the guitar is that old of an instrument, instrumentally speaking. Lutes and the like, yes.
What were guitar strings made of before nickel, nylon, etc. were used?
What they called %26quot;catgut,%26quot; which is in point of fact lambs%26#039; intestines.

Some Violin strings are still made with gut.


( also sausages and natural casing frankfruters).
